We’ve gone sports mad!
Footy to soccer and everything in between
Everyone in Fundraising has been working overtime to bring together our latest community fundraising campaigns. The events also aim to raise awareness for us and to further connect the community with our impact, highlighting the valuable service that is available for people experiencing food insecurity.
Most recently, we were the beneficiary of the Perth Glory’s game against the Melbourne Victory at Macedonia Park in Stirling which raised more than 4,000 meals.
We are so thankful to Perth Glory and CEO Anthony Radich, City of Stirling and Stirling Lions FC and Luke Pavlos from Stirling Macedonia Park for their support of the event and hope to do it all again next year.
This weekend will see our next big event, which is one for the AFL enthusiasts – The West Coast Eagles Million Meals Challenge is back again in 2023. The West Coast Eagles will play Carlton at Optus Stadium for the charity match on Saturday 29 April.
The West Coast Eagles and Mineral Resources have again partnered with us to support the Million Meal Challenge which aims to provide one million meals to Western Australians who are struggling to make ends meet as the cost of living continues to skyrocket.
Mineral Resources have pledged to double each donation made, meaning each dollar will turn into two, doubling the impact of each donation up to the value of $50,000, an amazing show of West Australian spirit which will help thousands of people access food for their families.
If you would like to volunteer on the day, please register your interest.
We have more on the horizon, so keep an eye out.
