One herb at a time
With warm weather here to stay and after the holiday break, it was the perfect time to refresh our Community Garden. Our green-thumbed staff and amazing volunteers got to work in early January.
In the second week of January, our dedicated staff and a special group of volunteers, affectionately known as the Golden Girls, rolled up their sleeves and got to work replanting our community garden.
After the holiday break, it was the perfect time to refresh the garden, especially with the community kitchen’s request for a variety of herbs to enhance future meals.
The team worked tirelessly, planting everything from fragrant basil, sage, parsley, thyme, oregano to robust rosemary, ensuring that our community kitchen will have an abundance of fresh ingredients to incorporate into the meals that nourish so many. The garden is now flourishing once again, ready to support our mission of providing wholesome, nutritious food to those in need.
We’re so grateful to our volunteers for their dedication and to everyone who makes initiatives like this possible. Together, we’re cultivating a brighter future, one herb at a time.
