You can create change

We need your help

This is a rare opportunity to shape legislation that could significantly reduce food waste and help feed more people in need.

Current status

The Senate Economics Legislation Committee has released details on the Inquiry into Tax Laws Amendment (Incentivising Food Donations to Charitable Organisations) Bill 2024. As we previously reported, this inquiry follows Senator Dean Smith’s introduction of the Tax Laws Amendment (Incentivising Food Donations to Charitable Organisations) Bill in the Senate, where it gained enough support to move forward to Committee.

We believe this bill could be a game changer in creating a hunger-free Australia. That’s why we’re urging our supporters to have their voices heard by submitting to the inquiry. Your input could make all the difference.

Have your voice heard

We have developed a submission template that you can use to draft your response. You can personalise the submission with your insights and experiences to demonstrate the bill’s potential impact. Even a simple statement of support for the concept would be valuable.

The submission deadline is Tuesday, 20 August, so time is of the essence to ensure your voice is heard. Your contribution can make a significant difference in shaping policies that support the reduction of food waste and food insecurity in Australia.

Help us create long lasting change
