Introducing Candice Long
Our new Agency Relationship Manager

Candice began her journey with Foodbank in January 2024 at our Peel branch, where she stepped into the role of Team Lead. Coming from a mining background, she was shocked to witness firsthand the number of families struggling to put food on the table.

Candice has really enjoyed the sea-change from mining to working at Foodbank, “What continues to amaze me is the dedication of every volunteer who gives their time each week. Each and every one of them plays a crucial role, and their efforts never go unnoticed. Working at Peel felt like being part of a family no two days were ever the same, and the atmosphere was always filled with energy, purpose, and teamwork.”

As Candice grew to understand our values, it became clear to her that she wanted to be more involved in the organisation and gain a deeper understanding of our operations. When the opportunity arose to step into the role of Agency Relationship Manager in Perth, she saw it as a challenge but also an exciting opportunity for growth beyond the management skills she had developed during her career to date.

Loving her new role, Candice says that one of the most rewarding parts of her new job has been working on the evolving agency pantry range. “I love that this initiative has allowed us to show our agency partners that we are constantly striving to improve and support them in meaningful ways. More importantly, it demonstrates that we are actively listening to the needs of each individual and organisation we work with.”

Candice is very passionate about her role and making a difference where it counts, “there is truly no better feeling than knowing we are making a difference providing essential support to those in need and seeing their gratitude firsthand. This work is more than just a job; it a privilege to be part of a team that is changing lives, one meal at a time.”
