Foodbank Agency Pantry:
Expanding Food Relief Support in WA

With the cost-of-living crisis placing immense pressure on communities, the demand for essential food items has surged.

We have witnessed an increase in clients seeking support, and we acknowledge the growing need for sustainable food relief solutions.

To better support the community and strengthen the food relief network across Western Australia, we are exploring ways to enhance our operations and services. One of our key initiatives is the Foodbank Agency Pantry, launching in 2025. This program aims to provide Agency Partners with access to in-demand pantry staples at a reduced cost, allowing agencies to stretch their budgets further and support their food relief programs more effectively.

What is the Foodbank Agency Pantry?

The Foodbank Agency Pantry is a bulk purchasing program designed to make essential food items more affordable for agency partners.

Initially, the program will offer 29 core pantry products at prices typically 10-20% below retail price (RRP), and in many cases, even lower than in-branch pricing. Orders can be placed weekly using the provided order form.

The first phase of the program includes staple food items such as:

  • Canned goods: Campbell’s Stock Pot Soup, SPC Baked Beans, Edgell Mixed Vegetables, Diced Tomatoes.
  • Dairy and non-dairy alternatives: Devondale UHT Full Cream Milk, Liddell’s Lactose-Free UHT Milk, Powdered Full Cream Milk.
  • Breakfast staples: Uncle Toby’s Oats, Sanitarium Weet-Bix, Woolworths Wheat Biscuits.
  • Pantry essentials: Plain Flour, Self-Raising Flour, White Sugar, Peanut Butter, Vegemite.
  • Pasta and rice: Spaghetti, Penne, Leggo’s Chunky Pasta Sauce.
  • Snacks and convenience foods: Choc Chip Muesli Bars, Strawberry Yoghurt Muesli Bars.

Future expansion and your input

In FY26, we plan to expand the Foodbank Agency Pantry range, incorporating agency feedback to ensure we are meeting sector needs. To help us refine our offerings and secure funding for additional products, we are asking our partners to complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) form.

The EOI is not a commitment to purchase, but rather an indication of potential monthly or quarterly purchasing volumes. This information will help us evaluate demand for both core and non-core items, ensuring adequate stock availability and guiding future procurement efforts.

How to get involved

  1. Review the EOI Form – The 29 core products currently available and additional non-core products that have been previously requested by agencies.
  2. Indicate your interest – Fill out the form with estimated quantities of products your agency may purchase.
  3. Submit by Friday, 28th February – Your response will assist us in planning and securing funding for a broader product range.
  4. Stay tuned for updates – In May, we will provide a revised order form with confirmed pricing and product availability. Orders will commence for July delivery onwards.
