Food sourcing:
Who makes it all happen?

Last financial year we provided over 9.2 million meals to Western Australians who are going without. With a huge figure like this, you would be forgiven if you thought there was an army of people dedicated to food sourcing at Foodbank WA.

In fact, there are two.

Angela Tarbottom has been with Foodbank for two years helped us meet our rising demand for fresh produce. It has certainly been noticed; our fruit and vegetable offering has never looked healthier.

James Davis joined us two months ago as our Food Sourcing Manager, James has wasted no time getting to know our donors while also jumping into the deep and reaching out all across the state to build new relationships.

James previous roles are wide and varied and include Assistant Store Manager/Store Manager for Woolworths Supermarkets, Shift Operations Manager- Supply Chain for Primary Connect, Regional Security Manager for Defence WA (an Australian Defence Force contract) and an impressive 27 years British Military and Police and Security consultancy!

In James’ previous life at Woolworths, he had met several members of the Foodbank team and was impressed by the work we do and wanted to be a part of an organisation making a real difference for so many. “Foodbank WA do so much good for so many people in Western Australia and I wanted to be a part of that! I’m inherently a people person with a passion for food, retail, and supply chain so this role is perfect for me!”

James says that Foodbank is an organisation that he is proud to align with and work within, and we are so happy he is onboard, bringing his infectious enthusiasm and expertise where it is really needed.
