Cooking up a storm
in remote WA

Visiting the deep red earth of the Pilbara region for the last time this year, our nutritionists had a jam-packed trip.

We delivered a hands-on incursion experience at three schools, Peg’s Creek Primary School, Baynton West Primary School, and Karratha Senior High School and in total seeing 176 students across 8 sessions.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and loved cooking and trying new foods making Crazy Corn Dip, Rainbow Salad, Fasta Pasta, Noodle Ninja Mince and Coco Loco Balls. The overwhelmingly positive response from the students was no surprise, these sessions are a hit all year round.

We also received a lot of positive feedback, with some students even going out of their way to let us know that they cooked our Foodbank recipes at home after the sessions.

Each of the groups were really engaged and excited to be taking part in the incursion, which is music to our ears, as we can’t wait to get back to the Pilbara next year, watch this space!

We wouldn’t be able to achieve this without the support from our funders Mineral Resources and Pilbara Minerals.
