Which bank?
Beefbank!
Beefbank, which calls for donations of cattle and funds has been in operation in Queensland for 12 years now, with 100% of all donations going to the purchase and production of meals for the homeless and those in need. Beefbank has worked with Foodbank Queensland to ensure the charities and non-profits on the front line of tackling this issue get the support they need.
We recently set-up a program with Beefbank here in WA together with Dardanup Butchering Company (DBC), to collect excess/unwanted livestock(cattle/lambs/sheep) that a farmer wishes to donate to Foodbank.
Beefbank and DBC then organise the slaughtering, processing, packaging and delivering of the final product to Foodbank WA with the costs being picked up by Foodbank Australia.
July saw our first donation go through under the partnership, there sheep (wethers) from Nola and Chris Banasik. Nola shared “as farmers we have seen first-hand how the cost of living crisis has impacted the community. We are so happy to help through the new program at Foodbank WA. It is such a great initiative, we’re so glad it’s in place.”
Thank you Nola and Chris, your donation has made such a huge difference to those in need.
