Supporting Victoria’s charities
Did you know that by supporting us you’re actually supporting more than 450 charities?
Here at Foodbank Victoria, we source and distribute food that is then available to our charity partners to use in their local programs.
You might be surprised to learn that every year, we work with partners across the food and grocery sector to source, rescue and distribute more than 9 million kilograms of food to charities you may already know.
By working with large organisations such as the Salvation Army, Neighbourhood House Network and Vinnies, through to smaller charities like ADRA Bairnsdale, Foothills Community Care and Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House, we’re able to help feed more than 140,000 Victorians every month.
Every time you support us, you’re also supporting, you’re supporting Victoria’s charity network.
John Farquharson has worked with the Salvation Army for over 30 years. This is what he had to say:
These areas are probably the most disadvantaged in the state and we’re here to help the members of our community cope with everyday life. Foodbank drives our dollar much, much further. That’s the critical thing. We just couldn’t do it without Foodbank. We just couldn’t do it.
Many of our charity partners rely on volunteers to help run their food relief programs and services. If you are interested in volunteering at a local charity, click here to view a map of organisations in your area that are currently seeking a helping hand.
