Do you want to be a Foodbank superhero? You can join the Foodbank family and learn how to help others in need.
Foodbank SA and Central Australia has identified through our School Programs an increased demand for Foodbank specific educational and interactive activities for children. The Superhero Program has been developed as a way for children and their families to connect with Foodbank. Young people aged 4 to 12 years will learn about food insecurity, how they can make a difference in the lives of others and start to develop a ‘pay it forward’ mentality at a young age. The Program will also educate children about Foodbank’s key messages including reducing food waste.
For children whose families require the support of Foodbank it will become a ‘safe program’ as we become one big family that supports each other. By educating children, we hope to reduce the stigma around food insecurity. It’s never too early to learn how to help others and understand what it means to become a real hero.
Simply register to become a Foodbank Superhero.
4 things you will learn to be a true Foodbank SA and Central Australia Superhero:
1. Helping others
2. Being Humble
3. Getting Educated
4. Reducing Waste
A note for parents:
As parents/guardians we want our children to grow up to be well rounded and contributing members of our society. This program aims to involve children in giving back to their local community, with the support of you their parents/guardians. We hope this will help to instil thankfulness in children and will shape a better future for not only our community but the state.
