ADELAIDE THUNDERBIRDS ARE PROUDLY SUPPORTING THE

BABY & INFANT CARE PROGRAM

Foodbank South Australia supports more than 126,000+ South Australians each month and one third of these are children. Many people within our communities struggle to provide basic shelter, clothing and food for themselves and their families. Often there’s no money left for basic baby care products.

Foodbank prepares small kits of essential baby care items, as well as providing individual care products. These packs are distributed at all our food hubs across South Australia, through our client agencies and at pop-up events. Including essential items such as disposable nappies, baby soap, baby shampoo, baby powder, baby lotion, tissues and a toiletries bag.

Supporting the program helps provide parents with essential baby items needed to reduce some financial pressures associated with food insecurity.

Key Facts

  • 56% of parents have not paid bills to have enough money for food and essential items.
  • One in three households say their children do not have enough to eat because they cannot afford it.
  • More than 27% of women have experienced food insecurity, compared to 18% of men. This is because 50% of mother’s are likely to feel like a bad parent.

THESE NAPPIES REALLY MAKE THE DIFFERENCE TO OUR CLIENTS, WHO ARE STRUGGLING FOLLOWING RECENT BUSH FIRES.
