Foodbank South Australia Women’s Health Packs will provide women in need with essential sanitary and toiletry products.

When you don’t have enough money to buy food for you and your children, it’s highly likely that there will be nothing left for personal care products. This hits high on a woman’s self-esteem and sense of worth.

Women bear the brunt of hunger in Australia. The Foodbank Hunger Report 2019 revealed that women in Australia are 50% more likely to experience food insecurity than men and, in fact, a quarter of all women have experienced food insecurity in some form in the past 12 months.

• Mothers will go without food to feed their children
• More than half of food insecure women have experienced domestic violence and single parenting
• Women are more likely to report experiencing negative emotions as a result of food insecurity: stress, anxiety, sadness
