ADELAIDE CROWS WOMEN’S ARE PROUDLY SUPPORTING THE
COUNTRY & REGIONAL OUTREACH
Foodbank South Australia support those in country and regional areas of South Australia. Providing outreach to communities in need through our regional branches in Mount Gambier, Berri and Whyalla. We also supply the stock for a regional Food Hub in Port Pirie and deliver mobile food hubs to areas of high demand.
During the recent bushfire appeal Foodbank has provided regular relief to effected areas. Through its weekly mobile food hub activation in Lobethal and food outreach to Kangaroo Island.
Foodbank continues to work in a community long after the initial crisis has passed. Whether people are coping with damaged / destroyed homes or disrupted income, the economic hardship is a challenge that remains after clean-up has taken place. Providing food relief, for as long as it’s needed, builds resilience helping people to get back on their feet.
South Australia’s extensive geographic area poses some logistical and operational challenges to reach those in country and regional communities who need food relief services. Additional funding will support the continuous expansion of outreach to these effected areas.
THOSE LIVING IN COUNTRY AND REGIONAL AREAS ARE 33% MORE LIKELY TO REQUIRE FOOD RELIEF THAN THOSE LIVING IN METROPOLITAN AREAS.
