Foodbank SA & Lions Clubs

The Lions Club’s in South Australia have been fantastic supporters of Foodbank of South Australia over the last 20 years.

Each year, Foodbank are overwhelmed by the generosity of Lions Clubs across the state. Last financial year 41 clubs donated enough food to put 101,278 meals on the table of those in need, making a real impact on food insecurity and hunger in our community.

Through our buying power, Foodbank SA can turn a $1 donation into $6 retail equivalent worth of food on the table of those in need in our community, with $1 equating to 2 meals . Importantly, with our geographical reach Lions Clubs can choose to donate to programs and projects in their respective communities, ensuring their impact is local – Act Local. Think Global.

2023/2024 Year – A new challenge to raise meals for those in need

Like last year, Lions C2 District has set challenge to all Lions Clubs in South Australia to collectively raise enough funds to put more than 100,000 meals on the table of those in need ($50,000) during the financial year 2023/2024.

As clubs donate we will add you to our project and funds to the tally. We will look forward to seeing the annual results and the meaningful impact it has on South Australian’s who are experiencing food insecurity.
