Foodbank SA Re-launch Superhero Program

September saw the relaunch of the Superhero program, an initiative to provide educational and interactive activities for children aged four – twelve year olds.

The program focuses on four key learnings: helping others, being humble, healthy eating and reducing waste. Through these learnings, Foodbank hope to educate children on food insecurity and how they can make a difference in the lives of others.

The relaunch focused on all four key learnings where children had the chance to win a Superhero show bag and gift voucher. The activities included a drawing competition where the children drew what it looked like to help others, a video where the children explained what they were thankful for, a recipe template and five-food groups template to show healthy eating options and a video to show what the children do to reduce waste.

The Superhero Program will be ongoing with monthly tasks being set surrounding the four key learnings. Some monthly tasks will have competitions included where the children can win prizes.

To get your child involved you can register via www.foodbanksa.org.au/superhero

Through the program, we hope that the children can become Foodbank Superheroes, learning some valuable lessons but mostly having fun with the activities we set.
