Grounds for good!

The Human Beans – Grounds for Good project represents over 2 years of research and trials between Neutrog and Foodbank SA to identify ways to economically collect and repurpose spent coffee grounds.

In 2023, we were thrilled to finally launch Human Beans, a coffee fertiliser for veggies, fruit, and flowers, in Bunnings stores across Australia. The launch took place at the Little Sprouts Kitchen Garden within the Adelaide Botanic Garden, creating a spectacular backdrop for the event.

The lineup of speakers at the launch included Michael Harvey, the Director of the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium of South Australia; Graham Ross OAM; Angus Irwin, the Managing Director of Neutrog; and Greg Pattison, the Chief Executive Officer of Foodbank SA & NT.

Human Beans is an organic based fertiliser made from recycled coffee grounds, composted chicken manure and coated with over 242 beneficial, living bacteria and fungi from POPUL8. Human Beans is perfect as an all-round fertiliser and is especially suited to growing vegetables, fruit and flowers, in garden beds, raised beds and pots.
