Despite their best efforts, Peter and Nicky are barely making ends meet. Even while carefully budgeting from week to week, they don’t have enough food on the table to feed their two little girls.

They never imagined that one day they would need to turn to Foodbank to be able to have enough food on the table to feed their family, or that their only contribution to their family Christmas meal would be just a loaf of bread.

“You just don’t think anything like this would happen to you. We are the kind of people that like to make plans for our future and we thought we were doing all the right things to be able to live a decent life. A life with stability. But now it is all about survival.”

Sadly, thousands of families have found themselves in a similar position over the past few years due to the impact of the pandemic and the rising cost of living.
