“I was taught that food should never be wasted”
I grew up with European parents who had both experienced real, prolonged hunger and not knowing where the next meal was coming from during WWII. As a result, I was taught that food should never be wasted and that the availability of food should never be taken for granted.

“I want to be a voice for regional and remote communities”
I was invited to join the Board of Foodbank NSW & ACT through my association as a Community Engagement Coordinator with Joblink Plus, working closely with Foodbank NSW & ACT, allowing community members to gain access to fresh produce and to get fresh produce to remote communities in need.
I aim to make a difference by communicating the needs of those living in low socioeconomic areas where the needs for food sustainability are not being met.

I came from humble beginnings and our meals were basic, but they were about more than just sustenance, they were about bringing people together. My professional career has made me aware that not all communities are able to enjoy meals together and that many go hungry. I wanted to be part of the team helping to tackle this and part of the solution.
